Voyage à Nice

The Alliance Française d'Oxford (AFO) and the Alliance Française de Nice (AFN) are working together to give the opportunity to AFO students to learn French at the AFN and live the French experience in Nice during a week!

The trip will take place from September 7th to 14th 2024. September is a fantastic time to go to Nice as is it less hot and there are fewer tourists!

Registrations for the trip are now open until the 1st of June. The process of registration is explained in the registration part down below.

The Alliance Française de Nice is perfectly located in the centre of Nice, in the rue de Paris. The AFN is easy to reach by public transport, is 10 minutes away from the train station and 20 minutes away from the famous "promenade des anglais" beach.

In the AFN you will have access to their Café, located in the same street as the AFN. This place is ideal for coffee or lunch break, you will also have acess to a books, DVD, board games in their library and to some cultural activities!

Prices for this trip vary on the options you will choose, Alliance students benefit from 10% off courses and do not pay administration fees. Four packages are available: 

> Package 1: 1 week of French courses (12,5 hours), a phonetics workshop (2 hours), an individual studio for 7 nights, breakfasts and lunches on weekdays, 3 half-day excursions and a 1-day trip. Fees: €716,29

> Package 2: 1 week of French courses (12,5 hours). Fees: 207,45€

> Package 3: 1 week of French courses (12,5 hours), 3 half-day excursions and a 1-day trip. Fees: 293,65€

> Package 4: 1 week of French courses (12,5 hours), an individual studio for 7 nights, breakfasts and lunches on weekdays. Fees: 630,09€

You will also be able to take the TCF exam for an extra 90€.

Please note that the fees do not include the journey, it is the participants' responsibility to book their flights.

The TCF exam (Test de Connaissance en Français) is an official exam that can certify a person's level of French up to C2. It is valid for two years.
It can be taken without oral tests and entirely on computer: it is shorter than the DELF (lasting between 2h30 and 4h00). There is also a full version with two expression tests (oral and written).

The AFN teachers are highly qualified and are experts in teaching French.
Level appropriate classes take place in the morning from 9am to 11.30am from Monday until Friday, a total of 12.5h over 5 days. A two-hours phonetics workshop is planned on the Tuesday afternoon. 

The number of student per class is maximum 18, but there are usually between 8 and 12 people per class.

Options are to arrange accommodation independently or to book through AFN. Studios in the residence on the AFN campus include:

• Less than one minute away from classrooms
• Direct access to the café
• Furnished individual studios
• Private bathroom
• Kitchenette with everything you need to cook
• CCTV
• Unlimited access to WiFi
• Air-conditioning
• Breakfast and lunch from Monday to Friday

It possible to arrive a few days before or to leave a few days after in your accommodation. If your partner is also taking part in the trip it is possible to book a studio for two people. The AFN will adapt your invoice.

You will have to book your own travel and organise transportation from and to the airport/train yourself.
When you arrive at the airport, few options are possible:

- The AFN can book a taxi for you to go from the airport to your studio
- A tramway line go from the airport to the residence
- You can book a taxi on your own

• A day-trip to Antibes on Sunday, 8th September

• A guided visit through Old Nice on Monday, 9th September

• A visit of the Chagall Museum on Wednesday, 11th September

• Workshop Nissarte Cuisine Tasting on Thursday, 12th September

It is possible to select the activities and excursions when registering for this trip.

If you have studied with the AFO in the last 2 years, you are eligible for the reduction.

The Alliance Française de Nice will be in charge of your registration. To register, email info@af-nice.fr and specify which package you would like to book. Registrations are open until the 1st of June.
