	<strong>Clara Dupont-Monod </strong>is the author of several novels, including La 'Passion selon Juette' (Grasset, 2007), 'Le roi
	disait que j'étais diable' (Grasset, 2014) and, published by Stock, 'La Révolte' (2018) and 'S'adapter' (2021, Prix Femina, Prix Landerneau,
	and Prix Goncourt des Lycéens).

	A propos du livre :<br />
	C’est l’histoire d’un enfant aux yeux noirs qui flottent, et s’échappent dans le vague, un enfant toujours allongé, aux joues douces et
	rebondies, aux jambes translucides et veinées de bleu, au filet de voix haut, aux pieds recourbés et au palais creux, un bébé éternel, un
	enfant inadapté qui trace une frontière invisible entre sa famille et les autres. C’est l’histoire de sa place dans la maison cévenole où il
	naît, au milieu de la nature puissante et des montagnes protectrices ; de sa place dans la fratrie et dans les enfances bouleversées. Celle
	de l’aîné qui fusionne avec l’enfant, qui, joue contre joue, attentionné et presque siamois, s’y attache, s’y abandonne et s’y perd. Celle
	de la cadette, en qui s’implante le dégoût et la colère, le rejet de l’enfant qui aspire la joie de ses parents et l’énergie de l’aîné.
	Celle du petit dernier qui vit dans l’ombre des fantômes familiaux tout en portant la renaissance d’un présent hors de la mémoire.<br />
	Comme dans un conte, les pierres de la cour témoignent. Comme dans les contes, la force vient des enfants, de l’amour fou de l’aîné qui
	protège, de la cadette révoltée qui rejettera le chagrin pour sauver la famille à la dérive. Du dernier qui saura réconcilier les histoires.<br />
	La naissance d'un enfant handicapé racontée par sa fratrie.

<br /><br />Marie NDiaye will be in conversation with Ève Morisi (St Hugh’s College), as part of the ‘Contemporains’ series

	Marie Ndiaye published her first novel, <em><em>Quant au riche avenir</em></em>, when she was 17. She won the Prix
	Goncourt in 2009 with <em>Trois femmes puissantes</em>. Her play <em><em>Papa doit manger</em></em> is the sole play by a
	living female writer to be part of the repertoire of the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Com%C3%A9die_fran%C3%A7aise">Comédie
	française</a>.
	She co-wrote the screenplay for the 2022 legal drama <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Omer_(film)"><em><em>Saint Omer</em></em></a> alongside
	its director <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alice_Diop">Alice Diop</a>, and Amrita David. In September 2022 the film was
	selected as France's official selection for <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Academy_Award_for_Best_International_Feature_Film">Best
	International Film</a> at
	the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/95th_Academy_Awards">95th Academy Awards</a>.

<br /><br />
	<strong>Constance Debré</strong> was born in 1972. She is the author of 3 novels, including the highly acclaimed <em>Play Boy</em> (Stock,
	2016), <em>Love Me Tender </em>(Flammarion, 2020, Prix Les Inrockuptibles), <em>Nom </em>(Flammarion, 2022), and
	'Offenses' (Flammarion, 2023).. She will be in conversation with Ève Morisi.

<br /><br />
	<strong>Ève Morisi </strong>is Associate Professor of French at the University of Oxford and works on the intersections of poetics,
	politics and ethics in modern and contemporary literature.
